Alphabet: This song was in production during the making of AS. The beat is relatively simple but putting it together and making it flow into our first track was a lot more complicated. I like a lot of the effects and risks we took on it. Makes it stand out a bit more and really gets you into the headspace of the album. That's how I approach every opener I make for any body of work. You can begin with your best song first but I really like creating a record as a whole experience rather than a large batch of single tracks. It's not the most serious song and it certainly doesn't have the deepest most otherworldly meaning like some of our other tracks. However, I think it serves its purpose just like our last opener does. You know exactly who you're listening to as the track comes to a close.

Soup: The creation of this song was very simple up until we were deciding what the title of the track should be. Alphabet had sent me this beat around November with the intention of me writing the track, however, I couldn’t come up with a catchy chorus and be stuck on what the theme of the track should be. Finally, a couple of months later, Alphabet had sent me a new version of it with him singing the chorus in a certain melody for me to write the lyrics. I still struggled with what the theme or meaning of the track should be, however, I really liked the melodic flow he used for the chorus, even though it wasn’t a “chorus” per se. So finally we decided to keep the chorus he made with no words and just write our own verses with outrageous bars. From then on, we knew that this had to be the intro for the album.
