about

Alphabet: One afternoon during my lunch at work I gave Soup a call on what other songs we should consider making for the album. It was a conversation we had many times during the final stretch of our production time and an idea we constantly went back to was a song inspired by Travis Scott's "Piss on Your Grave." There are very few other tracks that capture that raw anger and intensity. It's a song we looked at all the time as a template for what our sound could be. The night of that conversation Soup had a beat made in less than 2 hours. That became this song. Heavily inspired by JPEGMafia after we met him at a Tkay Maidza concert he performed at. The song is about identity theft and is one of two songs that Soup produced himself. The guitar was provided by Maxwell Jones a good friend of Soups and an overall wonderful guy. It was really fun to blend the guitar into the track and just make everything pop.

Soup: This song developed rather quickly and late in the album process. Alphabet and I are very spontaneous when it comes to music, and he texted me randomly one night saying he wanted to do a song similar to Piss On Your Grave by Travis Scott and Kanye West. We both share a love for that song so I immediately was inspired and stayed up till 2 AM making a beat for the song and then sent it to Alphabet in the morning. After a couple of weeks of mixing the beat, Alphabet continued to finish the lyrics so we could record the following week. When I came over to record, he had the chorus and one of his verses ready to go, but he needed help writing the verse I was going to do, so we wrote the rest of the song together in his room before we recorded the whole track that night. But we felt that there was still another element missing. We decided we needed some guitar licks for the track, so I asked my friend Max if he wanted to record some guitar stuff for our new album and he was more than happy to be a part of it.
